STUDENTS SNEAKING DRUGS IN KENYAN HIGH SCHOOLS

Present time boarding schools are facing a new war and era in terms of drug abuse.

With teachers making tout rules, students are adopting new techniques to endure drug circulation and trafficking continues unabated in Kenyan high schools. Some of the above ways are revealed below exclusively with luizquincy.

Bag straps are nowadays being sited to cover up drugs including tobacco and bang. Since the slit is against ones shoulder, it becomes quite difficult for teachers to notice and thus drugs find their way into Kenyan high schools.

"Students cut through bag straps and hide drugs, we have come to notice this quite recently and it is unfortunate that even with regular inspections such tactics were not noticed, some schools handle such with zero tolerance" said Mr Martin Mowel (not real name)

Another tactic is through slitting edges of trousers from the bottom. A small slit is made on the trouser's turn up and drugs squeezed into the space all round the bottom of trousers, this style has been used in schools around Taita Taveta and Malindi Counties respectively. It goes to show how much teachers need to do on matters discipline.

Another method students meploy is carrying drugs in blueband containers. A packed can full of blue and is reduced and drugs stashed therein, the remaining margarine is then scooped and poured on top to disguise the drugs wether bang, tobacco covered in nylon and cigarettes.

It has also been noticed that watchmen make a lot of money with their gatekeeping role. Students are covered up by watchmen who don't a lot of cash by allowing drugs to get inside schooll premises. This is yet to be noticed in many boarding schools.

Also, integrated schools where dayscolers coexist with boarders is a tough call to make.Teachers are finding hard to control the entry of drugs in schools which have day and boarding at the same establish ant. Dayscolers share classes, environment and even food with boarders who are caged within schools for a term or so. This situation allows boarders to send dayscolers who then bring drugs to school premises

Rúben dos Santos Gato Alves Dias (born 14 May 1997) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Manchester City and the Portugal national team.

KINGI, RUTO INDIFFERENCES

Never before has Kenya witnessed a fire-hot race with the looming countdown to next year's general elections.

Amason Kingi and Veep William Ruto once again clashed in Kwale during the burial of Sada Mgala, mother of Kwale governor Salim Mvurya. The burial was conducted in Mavirivirini-Kadzandani, Kwale county on Tuesday evening 24/08/2021.

Ruto urged Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to abandon with his push to form a Coast-based political party and gang up on his United Democratic Alliance (UDA). At this point, I began to ask, does William Ruto fear competition? Time will tell.

"I'm not on (UDA) yet. I'm the Jubilee deputy party leader and Coast MP's working with me like Dalu Tayari (Kinango) and Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) are on ODM. I am asking everyone to come on board the hustler movement and ensure a United country," said William Ruto.

Kingi urged Taita County Women Rep Lydia Tayari, Feisal Bader (Msambweni MP) and Aisha Jumwa to come together and form an alliance in form of a Coastal political party to fight for the interests and concerns of the Mombasa people.

"What is it that stops us from sinking our borehole as Coast province but join others who have their borehole? It is risky going to neighbours' boreholes seeking water. You might be denied water and told to wait until the owner has had enough of their water." Ratified Amason Kingi whilst at Kwale.

"You complained about your incumbent political parties that you were given a raw deal, but I tell you if it is only Ruto's party; the narrative will remain the same," added Amason Kingi.

Meanwhile, the deputy president tells Amason Kingi to abandon plans to form the Coast party ahead of 2022. This is not the first time the two clash but the recent is because Ruto tries to discourage Kingi from forming a Coast-based party perhaps due to fear of competition on the oncoming ballots next year.

Aisha Jumwa lamented that Coast leaders were recently not invited to state house albeit other political party leaders being called to a meeting by President Uhuru Kenyatta. This she views on her own as exclusion.

"Leaders of various political parties were recently invited to state house, Mombasa leaving out those of Coast parties. Governor Kingi should join us and work with Governor Mvurya. You should not wait for others to plan the next government for us," said Aisha Jumwa.

Governor Kingi was recently stripped of his chairmanship (ODM Kilifi) a position that has been graced to Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire by the ODM top leaders.

There are a lot of political adaptations to be expected between now and next year, and Wanjiku should this time choose leaders more Wisely and shouldn't expect handouts now and then as a measure of which leaders love them.

BBI REGGAE DUSTED TO THE WINDS

With the failed BBI PUSH, it is high time we sensitize our youth who are still wading through unemployment and mental health conditions. 

Come 2022, citizens should be empowered to pick a leader that has influence on masses and at the same time realizes the pain of its netizenry.

As for me, there exists not bottom up approach. That William Ruto will give youths and single mothers KES. 20,000 monthly does not hold water. We can empower the marginalized through projects and not buying their souls through monies.

"If the court of appeal rules against the BBI, then we shall not go to the supreme court," spoke Raila Odinga before yesterday's court of appeal verdict.

We should first focus on beating corruption and collecting all monies that were initially up for grabs by our leaders and put it all to projects by funding SME's, CBO's, CSO's and this is what I call ideal citizen empowerment. Let politicians not buy your vote, let them work for it and earn it through initiation of development projects.

I think the ruling 20/08/2021 clearly means Uhuru has no interest of standing as president nor prime minister. I say so because I think the verdict of the appeal court was staged and the game politicians are scheming has now gained popularity among the public who don't want to get involved anymore.

This judgment in an already corrupt Kenya could have been bought off. I mean, Uhuru is still president and the 7-judge bench must have been influenced by the powerful including our hustler veep and president Uhuru Kenyatta. No wonder DP William Ruto does not want to talk ill of his boss whenever he appears before national Tv screens.

When a leader restocks vegetables and fruits for mama mboga at lets say 2,000 shillings then gives her a 2,000-shilling handout, this isn't suffice to say we have empowered Small Medium Enterprise (SME's). Leaders should stop assuming and taking citizens as mediocre. Empowerment comes from creating projects, showing youths how to follow up on youth funds and women how to claim theirs.

As per statistics, Raila (AU infrastracture) is still favourite to win next year's elections at 31%. He should however expect stiff competition from UDA's William Ruto and the candidate to be endorsed by One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

Independent candidates could try again in 2027 because dynasty voting might still carry the day in next year's polls.

 "The judgment is by far the most significant ruling by Kenyan courts since Uhuru Kenyatta's election win was nullified in 2017." Said Ferdinand Omondi, a journalist.

Judge Fatuma Sichale has ruled in favour of the BBI with judge Francis Tuiyott upholding the high court ruling with other five judges left to give an independent judgment. Government had appealed the ruling of the high court and a seven judge bench was expected to deliver the verdict on 20/08/2021.

If the BBI passes, then Kenyans could start contemplating of a referendum. However if it fails, then no more slots shall be created in Kenya's government and this shall have an ominous effect on the politics of this country.

The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) ruling could be a sign of political and judicial independence in Kenya and the court of appeal results shall affect how Kenya runs its affair and state proceedings which shall usher a new era in Kenyan judicial framework."We shall not go to the supreme court if the BBI push fails," spoke Raila Odinga

COALITIONS SHALL STEAL THE DAY? ELECTION COUNTDOWN

With varrying coalitions and parties formed in preparation for next year's general elections in Kenya, Kenyans are worried how the August polls will be run. However there is still hope that a new Kenya is imminent. 

How Kenyans wish they could choose a president without having to look at ethnic considerations and parties and this day shall ostensibly come.

One Kenya alliance, comprises of Kalonzo Musyoka,Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi among other alliance members whereas Jubilee government has seen William Ruto leave to form United Democratic alliance(UDA). 

Politicians should now be thinking of slowly taking to rallies because though early preparations count, it is still way too far for people to be politicking.

The previous manifesto of Jubilee has done well in changing Kenyan education, Health and the manufacturing sector however housing has not been properly addressed. Hon. Uhuru is yet to endorse anyone whereas OKA are soon presenting their aspirant. However for President Uhuru Kenyatta, the handshake allowed for unity, peace and this is what Kenyans should eye for.

"Going forward, the country should allow projects for the youths and sensitize public against impulsivity. Inclusivity should be priority in nation making. This to allow youth gain employment spaces and the marginalized to get a voice through developing industries for manufacturing purposes, improving health and education sectors and giving them opportunities to vie for political spaces to gain representation both at county level and in national government." Said Marcelinus Mwanzia Kivisu, a Kenyan citizen.

Kenyans should start normalizing living together, nation building and advocating for peace. These are fundamentals that can make Kenyans viable to achieve the eyed vision 2030.

Wether bottom up or trickle down, these arguments cannot build Kenya but the netizenry. To this end politicians should pick up responsibility and shun from disastrous politicking and public gatherings.
